COVID-19 Updates

September 3, 2021

Updated All Sports Policy, The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH)updated its All Sports Policy Aug. 10 to align with Executive Order 2021-18. It s an expansion of the executive order mandates and expressly applies to“ school-based sports (high school and elementary school), travel clubs, private leagues and clubs, recreational leagues and centers, and park district sports programs” (emphasis added). The updated policy does not apply to “adult recreational sports, professional sports leagues, or college level division sports.”
The updated All Sports Policy requires face coverings:
For participants in all indoor sports, regardless of vaccination status, over the age of 2 through 12th grade, who can medically tolerate a face covering(although note the caveat for choking/visual obstruction hazards in the last bullet of the next section).
This specifically includes competitions, training, active exercise, sitting on sideline or bench, in the locker room, during team meetings, weight room activities, while bussing or car sharing, or during meals.
Mandatory Masking - The governor has placed the entire state of Illinois under a mandatory mask mandate effective Aug. 30, 2021. This mandate requires all individuals over the age of 2, regardless of vaccination status, to wear a mask in indoor public settings for the indefinite future.
Signs have been posted at all facilities and staff are requesting compliance.
