Baby Blades

This introduction class to the wonderful sport of skating is for our littlest skaters ages 24-36 months! Skaters will learn the basic skills of skating including falling down, standing up, marching and more! Our Baby Blades class will be filled with dancing, singing and constructive play. Skating aides (walkers) will be used during this class until skaters are ready to skate independently. A helmet is required for this class. This class meets for 30 minutes once a week. Session long skate rental is available for an additional fee.

Little Blades 1-4

This unique and fun filled class teaches the fundamentals of skating to children ages 3-5 years of age. Each week, skaters will learn basic balance and skating skills in a themed environment, including a Frozen week, Tot Olympics and Dr. Seuss Birthday Celebration while incorporating age appropriate on ice activities. Skaters will develop the coordination and strength necessary to maneuver on the ice independently. This class meets for 45 minutes once per week. Session long skate rental is available for an additional fee.

Basic 1

Basic 2

For skaters who have successfully passed Basic 1. Skaters will continue to learn the basics of ice skating while beginning basic backward skating skills. Skills learned in this include level scooter pushes, backward two foot glides, backward swizzles and rocking horses. This class meets for 45 minutes once per week. Session long skate rental is available for an additional fee.

In this combined class, skating skills such as two foot spins, backward one foot glides, stroking and three turns will be introduced. This class meets for 45 minutes once per week. Session long skate rental is available for an additional fee.

The Academy Bronze Level

Academy Bronze is for skaters in Basic 3-6.

The Academy is designed to teach skating skills at a faster pace in a small group environment. This seven week training program will provide skaters with a variety of on ice skating instruction as well as the opportunity to develop further mastery of their skills by working in a semi-private or small group.

The program will touch upon the following U.S. Figure Skating disciplines: Ice dancing, synchronized team skating, Artistry in Motion, jumps and spins, moves in the field, power skating, and the basic skills levels.

This class is perfect for anyone wanting to perform in ice shows, compete, learn new disciplines in figure skating or wanting to advance through the levels quicker.

This class meets for 1 hour twice per week. Session long skate rental is available for an additional fee.

Academy Silver is for skaters in Pre-Freeskate-Freeskate 3.

Well Balanced Competing

Figure skating offers three competitive tracks in competition: Excel, Excel Plus and Well Balanced events. Skaters entering Well Balanced levels require advanced jumps, spins positions, footwork and specialty moves for their freeskate program.

This class will work on flying spin entrances, jump combinations, advanced footwork patterns and overall skating presentation to prepare your skater for moving to Well Balanced events at competitions.

Ice Dancing

The wonderful combination of grace and form, skating skills, and musical appreciation will be introduced in this class. 

Skaters will learn tempo, lilt, patterns, flow, footwork, posture, edging, expression and partnering in this 30 minute class. 

Ice Dancing Low is for skaters in Freeskate 1-6 and Ice Dancing High is for skaters who have passed Freeskate 6.

On Ice Boot Camp

A high intensity on ice fitness and power class to rev up your stamina! On Ice Boot Camp will incorporate cardio, core work, drills and strength training in an energized enviroment.

Designed to enhance endurance, speed and strength on and off the ice! For skaters in Basic 6 and up.

Stroking and Crossovers

This class emphasizes correct stroking and crossover techniques to help skaters develop a sense of style with more power, speed and endurance. Emphasis is on improving power, speed and control to enhance flow, carriage and body movement on the ice, enhancing skating style, and building endurance.

Perfect for those preparing to test Moves in the Field or even those skaters who just need an extra hand. For skaters in Basic 4 and up.

Infinite Edges and Turns

The focus of this class is on proper edges which are the foundation for all skating skills, including jumps and spins. Skaters will also learn how to properly use their edges to gain power, speed and control as well as learn the basic and advanced turns in figure skating and how to incorporate them in to your skating.

Low is for skaters in Basic 6-Freeskate 3 and High is for skaters in Freeskate 4 and up.

Beyond the Basics - Jumps & Spins

This hybrid class combines jumping and spinning in figure skating and give skaters the opportunity to focus on the more advanced techniques in a group setting.
Skaters will concentrate on single jumps as well as basic and more advanced spins and their positions.

This class is appropriate for skaters in Freeskate 1 - 6.
